New Directions for 2011

Farewell
In early 2010 I fell in love with the concept that would become From 1 Mum 2 Another Children’s Clothing Exchange. With a passion for the environment, a need to smartly manage the family budget and a love of really cute kids wear, I saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the market and create an Australian online clothing exchange specialising in items for expectant mothers, babies and children.

I can not thank all our dear customers and consignors enough for their support over the last 10 months. From the way word of mouth is spreading about the business, I am obviously not alone in my desire for an avenue to not only purchase carefully chosen preloved items at affordable prices, but also to easily resell my own gently used items for cash or credit.

Sadly, a change in my personal circumstances means I do not have the time to invest in the business that it, and my loyal customers and consignors deserve. I feel stretched between my growing family’s needs and what I want to achieve professionally. For this reason, I made the difficult decision earlier this month to put the business up for sale.

Enter Deborah Tomalin
Deb enthusiastically contacted me almost the second the business was listed with Lifestyle Careers. Prior to becoming a mum ‘the best job in the world’, Deb worked in roles assisting others to manage their businesses. “I knew that I didn’t want to go back to this. So I had been looking into an online venture, something that I believed in and could make my own, and that would afford me the flexibility I desired to be able to work from home” Deb explained.

“Emily Jane, my first born, is only 1 and already has a wardrobe to rival any princess. It is literally bursting at the seams with clothes and toys in as-new condition that she has already outgrown” says Deb. “When I came upon From 1 Mum 2 Another I knew it was the answer to my search for a way to reduce, reuse and recycle all the beautiful things Emily no longer uses while giving me the opportunity to make some extra money to go towards new things she does need. As soon as I found out the business was for sale I knew without a doubt that it was something I wanted to be a part of.”

Looking Ahead
So what is in store for From 1 Mum 2 Another’s customers and consignors in 2011?

The biggest change will come in February with the relocation of the business’s head quarters from Victoria to Western Australia and of course a new Mum behind the name. Aside from this, you can rest assured you will continue to receive the same high levels of customer service you have experienced over the last 10 months. There will also continue to be a constantly updated variety of high quality, hand picked stock available to buy at the online store at affordable prices.

Deb plans to make more local markets and school fair appearances, with perhaps a stall at a baby expo or two. And of course, don’t forget to check with us regularly on our Facebook page and here on the blog for upcoming sales and special offers throughout 2011. “This year I aim to increase exposure of the business as much as possible in efforts to continue to increase our customer/consignor base. This will mean faster turnaround of your much loved items, which of course leads to your shopping coffers being topped up quicker too” says Deb.

So it is with regret that I say goodbye to the business as an owner, but with excitement that I look forward to seeing where From 1 Mum 2 Another goes from here. And of course, I hope that you will all continue to shop and swap with us – in fact, if you have a moment now, why not pop over and check out the online store begin to reduce, reuse, recycle and REJOICE with us today!

With sincere thanks and fond memories,

Warm regards,

Jennifer Frost
